Sabrina Chyld

Sabrina Chyld

Appearing on Sunday at 5pm on the Main Stage

UK based Singer/Songwriter Sabrina Chyld originally established her sound from her early musical background and development of Jazz, Soul and Funk, a fusion that took place over twenty years ago.

This journey took Sabrina's sound to the unique consciousness of 'Low Fat Self Esteem' and the politically delicate subject matter of abuse within a relationship & the awareness with 'Blood on our hands', a collaborative body of work with Ronnie Wilson, Wayne Hernandez and Mark Herman.

With a conscious decision to evolve musically, Sabrina began to explore her love of House Music by initially collaborating and featuring on two tracks produced by Jose Carretas ,entitled 'On Track' and 'Let's Escape' in 2010.

This was her first House release, which managed to gain her recognition in the South African and Europe House scene.  She later went onto release 'More To Life' with Colum Hustler a Groove Odyssey release in 2012, shortly followed by her release with Patrick Crookid and 'Piece of my mind' released on Open Bar Music in Miami, (2013)

Following on from this was the release on MN2S of 'Held Onto Me' which went to number three on Traxsource in (2013) Sabrina collaborated once again with Aphrodisiax with another great success 'Free', released on Foliage Records with a special remix by the one and only Ron Trent. In the same year, Sabrina then had three different releases out with another Groove Odyssey track with Matt Early ‘Moving On’ & ‘Gave All You Had’ with the super talented South African duo PM Projects.

In 2014, Sabrina was able to feature on three different albums. A collaboration with Andy Compton first with ‘Left Me Open’ & ‘Secret’. Allowing her to revisit her Soulful Jazz style on his Ubuntu album released on Peng records. Followed up with ‘Gaps On My Mind’, ‘Lessons To Learn’, ‘Sun’s Going Down’, & ‘From Within’ all tracks available on Peng Records.

The release of ‘Let it Grow’ with Jonny Miller and D.Malice on DM Recordings, was followed by a feature on Jonny Miller album entitled ‘Producer series 3’ called ‘Painting Of Life’ with South African Producer Cuebar which is on Soul Candi South African label. Then finally Sabrina was featured on Sean Mccabe debut album ‘Its Time’ with ‘Gotta Believe’ released on Z Records.

All tracks mentioned have established success within the London House scene as well as across the water, touching souls in South African, Italy, Miami, New York, Detroit, Brazil, Europe, Canada and Japan. 2015 saw Sabrina reaching the top ten on Traxsource twice with her summer collaboration with Rhemi Music and ‘Deeper’ written by the talented duo Hanlei which went to number six, followed by ‘Loving Me’ a Quantise Records release that featured South African Producer Gumzito which went to number seven. Sabrina was also able to work on her first duet with the smooth vocals of Robert Walker in ‘Can We’ a musically jazz fuelled production by Paris Cesvette on Jack To Jazz Records.

This year begins with a new release called ‘Loving That I Needed’, with the one & only N’Dinga Gaba on Global Diplomacy Records.
