Specialist in local sustainability
Appearing on Sunday at 4pm in the Campaigns/Lifestyle talks Room
Martin Fodor deals with resources, energy and the built environment. He wrote the first recycling plan for Bristol, and promoted green initiatives and partnerships over several years.
Nationally he developed an influential sustainable energy position for the local government sector. He also wrote a procurement toolkit for social enterprises for the government. At the Environment Agency, he worked on climate change and then partnerships with the retail and construction sectors.
He is now freelancing, working on practical local initiatives. Current projects include an innovative commercial food waste project to help local cafes and restaurants recycle their waste responsibly, and work with community energy groups to demystify managing energy better at home in older houses.
He joined Bristol Vegans six years ago and enjoys the creativity of the pot luck dinners people join in. He's presented popular sessions at VegFest several years running.
