Kim Stallwood became a vegetarian after working in a chicken slaughterhouse in 1974. In 1976 he went vegan and since then worked full-time in animal rights for some of the world’s foremost organisations in the UK and US, including Compassion In World Farming, British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and The Animals’ Agenda magazine.
His new book, Growl: Life Lessons, Hard Truths, and Bold Strategies from an Animal Advocate (Lantern Books), is a memoir and an exploration of what it means to care deeply about animals. www.kimstallwood.com
