Appearing on Saturday at 5pm in the Comedy Hour in the Cinema
Coventry-born Joey Brannigan is a Comedian, Poet & Writer (and Vegan!). After performing twice with us in 2012, Joey is making his return and bringing with him a variety of stories, poems and letters (he loves winding people up!). Joey, who has had successful shows at Leicester, Nottingham & Birmingham Comedy festivals is no stranger to larger stages. Having opened for Simon Evans, as well as being part of the 'I am Happy' tour which culminated in a sold out show at Leicesters' Y Theatre. A short clip from this made it to the finals of Dave's Comedy Shorts competition (2013).
In more recent times Joey has been taking his act all-over, featuring most heavily in the London Poetry circuit. Using his unique mix of traditional Stand-Up Comedy with Poetry Joey has been treading new territory. Appearing regularly at Poetry Unplugged, Farrago and as host/MC of Stage Fright. Joey is also set to appear at Camden Fringe this summer in a Stand-up show based around a childhood love of Pro Wrestling alongside fellow comedian; Richard Wright.
For more information about Joey visit his website or twitter pages:
"Joey Brings a little Rock & Roll to Comedy" (Coventry Telegraph 2011).
"Joey looks the part, works the crowd very well, and is funny and fresh." (Comedy Club 101 - Comedy Rising Stars 2013 - 2nd place).
"Come and see him now before he is playing arenas" (Paul McMenemy, Poetry Weekly Editor. 2013).
"Joey's ability to construct a letter that is as poignant as it is amusing is simply astonishing" (Jonathon Hughes, Tapit Entertainment).
