Not to be missed – a headline performance from punk band Goldblade at Bristol on the Saturday May 24th
Formed in the mid 90s as an island of high octane surrounded by a sea of grey, Goldblade have taken their firebrand rock n roll all over the world in a series of gigs and tours and festival appearances that have cemented their reputation as one of the great live bands.
Their gigs are legendary adrenalised high energy affairs that have had an instant reaction all over the world. Eschewing their real names they were a brotherhood and only known by their first name and Brother- like a high octane gang of shaolin monks playing chaotic and dangerous rock n roll they took from the past and created a new future and were relentlessly copied by many bands.
Goldblade have released six albums, with their most recent, 'the Terror of Modern Life' getting rave reviews from across the music press and breakthrough radio play and it's also the band's best selling to date and sees the band perched on a breakthrough especially after a summer of highly successful festival appearances.
Goldblade have played festivals all over the world and toured everywhere from Europe to the USA to Russia and even places like Algeria, they have supported the Prodigy, The Stranglers, The Damned, Rancid, Offspring, Steve Ignorent's Crass on the US tour, New Modal Army, Stiff Little Fingers, Ian Brown (per special request from Ian), The Fall and many others as well constantly doing their own headline tours.
Frontman John Robb is also famous for his TV and radio work, his music website www.louderthanwar.com (one of the top 5 music websites in the UK), his best selling books on Manchester music, punk rock and the Stone Roses, as well as his vegan lifestyle.
