Brighton becomes a 2 day show for 2012! March 17th & 18th 2012.
The dates have been announced for VegfestUK Brighton 2012 – and the show is going two days! The event opens at 11am on Saturday March 17th at the Hove Centre and closes at 6pm. It will then reopen on Sunday March 18th from 11am through until 6pm. With over 3,000 people attending in 2011, the show expects to attract an even bigger audience over the two days and with even more stallholders, talks and demos than before, VegfestUK Brighton continues to grow and expand into one of Europe's biggest veggie events for 2012. Bristol 2011 a huge success! 13,000 visitors over 3 days!
Europe’s biggest veggie event for 2011 was held over the last weekend of May in Central Bristol, with over 13,000 visitors attending over the 3 days. The Main Marquee was rammed solid for most of the weekend with over 10,000 attending during the daytime and 3,000 at the evening concerts to watch headliners Ms Dynamite, Aswad and The Selecter. There were around 50 talks and demos over the weekend with the Cookery Demos being especially well attended, with queues outside for most of them. Bristol dates for 2012 are May 25th 2th and 27th .
VegfestUK Awards 2011. Winners announced!
The results for the VegfestUK awards 2011 have been revealed, with the likes of Fry’s, Provamel, Moo Free Chocolates and The Vegan Society all amongst the winners. Thousands of votes were cast online between March and May as people voted for their favourite vegan products, people, projects and publications. With eleven categories, each containing ten nominations there was no shortage of choice! You can catch up with all the results right here http://bristol.vegfest.co.uk/current-results. There are a number of vegan events coming up over the next few months, the closest event being the West Midlands Vegan Festival on October 29th (www.veganmidlands.org.uk, entry fee £1). November brings shows in Lincoln, Liverpool and Exeter which all raise awareness and offer excellent vegan shopping opportunities! Then comes the big 'Christmas Without Cruelty' event run by Animal Aid on December 4 that holds 80-90 stalls and expects to see 1,500+ visitors. We hope to see you all there!
