Friday 25th May 5pm

Dominic Berry, your host

Dominic Berry is a winner of New York's Nuyorican Poetry Cafe Slam, UK Superheroes of Slam and has just toured his first theatre verse show, Wizard, across the UK. Manchester's finest vegan, gay poet (he's not sure how much competition he actually has for that title), his poetry books 'Wizard' and 'Tomorrow, I Will Go Dancing' are both available now via Flapjack Press.

Rob Jackson, opening

Rob Jackson is an up-and-coming stand up comedian from the Black Country. If you’re wondering why he appears each day it’s because he organised the comedy hours so got the pick of the spots. “I’m so glad to be able to contribute to this year’s VegFest and pass on best wishes from all the acts for a fabulous event! Enjoy your visit and come laugh your socks off with us!” says Rob.

Leon Clifford, your guest

Leon Clifford is from Birmingham and started performing stand up comedy in mid 2011. In a short space of time Leon has already become capable of standing and talking simultaneously and quite often faces the right direction.

Andrew O’Neill, your feature act

Andrew O'Neill is a stand-up comedian, a metalhead, an amateur occultist and a musician. He's pretty much been a show off since birth! He's a vegan, as you can tell by the fact that he has a lithe, sinewy body. He's a heterosexual transvestite, as you can tell by the fact that he wears female clothes and fancys girls. He's not a goth.

“the very definition of alternative” (The Guardian)
“one of the funniest comedians on the circuit at the moment … hitting new heights of comedic brilliance” (TimeOut)
“so funny I put him in my new TV show” (Steve Coogan)

Saturday 26th May 4pm

Joey Brannigan, your host

Coventry born Joey Brannigan is a 28 year old Comedian known for his sharp, sometimes coarse, take on life. Joey delivers his comical insights with poetic flair and loveable vulnerability. He has headlined various fundraising events and made successful appearances at both the Leicester and Birmingham Comedy Festivals in 2011. Recently, he opened for Simon Evans at the Stables, Milton Keynes and was warmly received by the audience and considered by Evans as ‘one to watch’.

"Joey brings a little Rock & Roll to comedy" (Coventry Telegraph)
"Funnier than that comedian you saw on TV last night!" (JxC Promotions)

Rob Jackson, opening

Rob Jackson is an up-and-coming stand up comedian from the Black Country. If you’re wondering why he appears each day it’s because he organised the comedy hours so got the pick of the spots. “I’m excited to bring vegan comedians to Bristol VegFest and have been overjoyed to find so many wonderful specimens!” says Rob.

James Hately, your guest

James is a weird and wonderful performer with a spindly 'pythonesque' figure and a dazzling imagination. His act makes use of surreal logic and imagery to bring a magical quality to the everyday. James appeared in the Magners Pub Comedian of the Year final 2008, won a Frog and Bucket gong show in Manchester, put on a show in Edinburgh 2008, and was asked to perform at the Green Man festival 2009 and 2010. In 2009-11 James has been busy setting up a small comedy cafe and building up a comedy scene in Derby.

“F**king funny” (Brian Damage, Pearshaped)

Sara Pascoe, your feature act

Star of Channel 4's ‘Stand Up for The Week’ and Sky’s ‘Wall of Fame’ - Sara Pascoe brings her erudite, absurdist and original stand up comedy to Bristol. As an actress Sara has starred in the comedy series ‘Free Agents’, ‘Campus’ and ‘The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret’. Other TV credits include ‘Twenty Twelve’, ‘The Thick of It’ and ‘Being Human’.

"Always intelligent and occasionally exquisite" (Independent)

"defiantly idiosyncratic and highly accessible" (Evening Standard)

"combines the sassy self-regard of Russell Brand with low-level Eddie Izzard-esque surrealism" (Guardian)

Sunday 27th May 4pm

Stephen O’Neill, your host

Stephen’s first year in comedy has led him to performances at the Glee Club and in finals of major competitions including the Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Award.

“O’Neill was a fantastic act, and absolutely hilarious”

“Another fast paced riser, Stephen’s dead pan, bizarre and yet superbly constructed approach make a very difficult comedy genre look easy” (South Wales Echo)

Rob Jackson, opening

Rob Jackson is an up-and-coming stand up comedian from the Black Country. If you’re wondering why he appears each day it’s because he organised the comedy hours so got the pick of the spots. “How fantastic to be part of a such a diverse and lively line up of vegan comedians, proving once and for all that vegans do have a sense of humour!” says Rob.

Jayne Edwards, your guest

Growing up in the faded seaside town of Rhyl in North Wales, Jayne Edwards grew up surrounded by a surreal and dying tourist trade. Writing throughout her teens, and performing stand up from the age of 20, she has developed into an interesting, intelligent and original act. Funny and very likeable, she has a quirky style that is brought to an audience with energy and confidence.

"Reminiscent of Josie Long and Isy Suttie, except I much preferred Jayne" (Alchemy, Wolverhampton)

"Jayne was a total delight" (Cradley Heath comedy club)

Chris Stokes, your feature act

Chris’ calm, laid back demeanour combined with a hilarious and erudite turn of phrase has seen his act flourish in venues across the country since competing in Chortle Student Comedian of The year Competition 2007. Equipped with superb material, and the style to match, his is an act both extremely funny and original. Winner of the First Laugh Comedian of the Year award 2008, Big Value Comedy Show 2010 and Pleasance Comedy Reserve 2009.

”...side-splitting ...hilarious" (The Scotsman)
